can't find the right nut for the DP

i replaced my DP and have had some trouble with the old studs.. first one had the nut rusted onto the stud that was impossible to remove.. the 2nd stud looks like it messed up the threading in the housing, so i'm going to have to rethread it.. both of these are the bottom studs on the DP.. i got my new studs in but i'm having a problem getting a nut onto them.. i can only get the standard nuts halfway down before the outside of the nut starts pressing against the DP and i can't screw it down anymore.. anyone have a suggestion of what nut and where i can find a nut to work?

You might need to convert the studs to allen head bolts. It could also be that you have to install the nuts in a certain order with the DP loose depending on the design.

Like alexdimen said, try to put all the nuts on by hand then evenly tighten them. A little anti-sieze would help. If the nuts aren't working for whatever reason try going to an auto parts store and getting some copper exhaust nuts. Bring a stud to make sure everything is in working order before you bring them home. Maybe a picture if things still aren't working out. Also make sure not to connect the lower portion of the DP until it's mated with the turbo system.

yeah, i tried to put them on, and tightened the top ones first.. the problem isn't so much the nut sticking on the threading, but moreso that when i fasten the nut down, the outer edge of the nut presses against the DP halfway down the stud, so the DP is in the way of the nut..

The stock nuts are inconel. I would highly recommend using the stock ones if you can. What DP are you installing? Are the nuts you are using fairly tall? It's possible someone mixed up the nuts on your car and used manifold bolts on the DP (as they are the taller ones but same thread pitch).

i'm not sure i can still use the stock nuts.. the DP is from gotham-racing the nuts are standad size nuts, average height, not too tall.. they are 10m x 1.5.. it just seems the walls of the nut are too thick.. if they were a fraction of a mm smaller the nut would go down fine..

You need allen bolts... get stainless. I have a spare set.
