Did you notice that the buyer is responceable for shipping and customs? They're is a reason you don't see FD's from Japan driving around. It would cost you at least a few thousand to ship it, then you would have to petition customs to allow you to bring it in by showing "historical" value or some ****.

Call your local customs office. Me and dom have both had experience with this. Its not easy, but its also not as hard as everyone makes it up to be. Expecially on a 97, ie.. it was not brought to the us that year. Dont listen to anyone on this board, no one knows anything. With the exception of a few veterans. Anyways, you can do it, but its going to cost about 10 grand over the price of the car. Contact a Registered Importer if you are serious.

Wow, 10k over the bid price (already 15k), plus it's right-hand drive, which is odd for most of us to use and probably wouldn't do anything for re-sale.

Here is a link to alot of valuable information. From my understanding the vehicle that most of us would be interested in getting over here would be a rhd fd or fc. According to the chart on the link attached the fd or fc rx7 and years 87-95 are categorized under VSP number 279.

"VSP" eligibility numbers are assigned to vehicles that are decided to be eligible under 49 U.S.C. § 30141(a)(1)(A), based on a petition from a manufacturer or registered importer which establishes that a substantially similar U.S. -certified vehicle exists

It looks to me like it would be easier to get a 95 or older fd3s only because the same vehicle was made in the U.S. the same year, there were no FD's made in 1997 so it would probably be more difficult. I am still researching more information on this, I am trying to get a rhd vehicle as well.
