can someone please explain the FD door locks, i can't figure them out for ****, i have the factory theft detterent

it seems to lock when it wants from the key on the outside

from the inside i can lock the doors and close them, that works fine

I think mine is working as per factory spec.

When in the car with doors closed: Locking driver's side lock triggers passenger door lock. Passenger door lock only locks passenger door, does NOT trigger Divers door.

With door(s) open: locking divers' lock will tigger passenger door lock and set the alarm with a little beep. Locking passenger door wwill not lock the divers side lock. To keep the locks locked, you must hold up the handle when closing the door(s)

With diver's door closed and alarm armed: You can unlock the passenger door with the key, and this will disarm the alarm, If you re-lock the passenger door with the lock switch inside the door the alarm will re-arm.

With both doors closed and alarm armed: Unlocking the doors (either) with a key, the alarm will disarm. Unlocking and opening the trunk will leave the alarm armed.

With doors closed and unlocking with key from the outside: If unlocking the driver's door, the alarm disarms and the passenger door lock unlocks. Unlocking the pass door with key only unlocks the pass door. Re-locking the doors with the key from the driver's side re-locks both doors. Locking the pass side with key only locks the pass side. I'm pretty sure locking the drivers side with the key after closing the door does NOT arm tha alarm, but I don't recall just now.

Sometimes, I notice that I'll open the drivers door and lock it with the interior switch, and the alarm does not arm. I unlock the lock, cloes the door, open it again, and lock it using the interior switch. This always sets the alarm correctly. This activity seems tied to the hood being popped open before the door is opened, or after. If I pop the hood before the door is opened, the alarm will not arm, and if I pop it after the door has been opened, the alarm will arm when I lock the door with the interior switch. Or maybe the other way around

I'm pretty sure the reason that the alarm doesn't arm when you lock the door before closing is that either of the doors or hoods were opened before turning the ignition key off.

oh hey... if you have a turbo timer that messes up the arming of the alarm

i know this cuzz mine arms always when the car iss off compelatly and i lock the door, but if I lock the door while the T timer is running it dosent...
