Can Someone Tell Me Were Does Ecu Speed Sensor Wire Gets Its Info From

Hey guys, just need a lil help, well i have the blitz sbc id III power meter, and it has to have the orange speed sensor wire hooked up, i installed the unit and it worked great, about 3 weeks later nothing, i was wondering if the connection came off, so i rewired it even with a new line, and still nothing.

so now im thinking, the speed sensore wire going into the ECu, get its sorce and were is it.

duhhhhhh !!! lol ok the word was center console lol i couldnt think of it to save my life. ok the ? is, is the speed sensor under the console or is it under the car on the trans

It is on the rear of the tranny. Passenger side. It has one bolt holding the sensor/reader on the tranny. hopfully that helps.

I believe the two speed sensor wires go to the speedometer ECU. There is a wire that comes out of this unit which goes to the engine ECU. If your speedomter still works then i would guess the sensor is OK.

ok hmmm well the speedometer works so i guess the unit is busted i dont know what would have cause it to go. ill just have to buy a new one thanks guys.

ecu gets it from the "speed sensor" on tranny. speedsensors sometimes will break due to wear and tear from driver abusing it in the long run.

i had to replace it on my 98 prelude before. don't know if its from that but i draged race that car a lot w/ turbo+nos. could've broke from too much stress.... i dunno

I just double checked. The sensor goes to the speedometer's ECU as two wires. A sine wave because the tranny is a VR sensor. The speedometer ECU outputs a square wave for the engine ECU and cruise control ECU to use. So i still think it is safe to say that if your speedo works then the sensor on the tranny is OK. However,there could still be an issue with the wire that runs from the speedometer ECU to the engine ECU.

Well my only guess is to buy a new power meter and see if it does the same thing, and if it does ill just go from there, thank you guys so much for all of your help.
