can my rx-7 take this?
hey,
this guy has offered to race me and he's got a 1994 3000GT with these mods on it:
K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit, HKS Sequential Blow-off Valve, Apex'i AVC-R Boost Controller, Blitz Multi-speed Turbo Timer, DN Performance Aluminum Y-pipe
Check out my mods in my sig and lemme know if i would be able to take this guy in a drag assuming we both got off the line well.
I def know i could win in a road course given the 7's unbelievable handling.

Vr-4
A stock VR-4 with 360HP and a curb weight of 4600lbs VS. a 7 at 255 at 2700lbs. From what I have seen beening a former Mitsu Tech. You will kill him. Off the line is also no match. He is just too damn heavy. The only time those tanks are nice is on the highway since they and a 6 speed. They have some crazy top end. No worries you'll have him by a sec. or so in the quarter as long as your tires aren't stiff as rocks. (what boost is he running?)

Yeah you've got him ... not off the line because it's AWD ... unless of course the Mitsu drivetrain does what Mitsu drivetrains do. Whether he keeps up with you when you pass him is dependent upon what exactly that K&N Fuel something kit is (bigger injectors?) and therefore what level of boost he can run with that boost controller.

i dunno but if he's not pushing nething real high over stock (i doubt he is from the stock turbo) i think i can take him--i plan on getting 360hp out of my 7 @ some point or another and that'll damn near take anything this side of a ferrari.

if he's stock you'll be close...
But I'd be willing to bet he's upped the boost to 14psi at least, giving him the edge. Stock he's around 11-12 psi making 320 hp for his 3900 lbs, you're lighter by 1000 lbs, but down ~70 hp. So it's close, but I'd prolly give the nod to you in the FD, all other things being equal. You better know how to launch your FD thoug, cause those VR-4s like that 0-60 part.
Try him and see, if he wants to put down $, then he's boosting more like 1bar and making more like 350, so don't loose your $.

When he starts crying, offer to race him in reverse.
