Any good locksmith can take the 4-5 digit code stamped on the body of your driver door lock (yes you need to take the door apart to get it) and cut you keys. A lock hut near by me did this for $25

Hmmm so every single FD key is different obviously?

I always wanted to know how that worked.

I did this, you buy the blank for around $15, give your vin # and voila, new key. Better than going off a worn key or if you lost it all together. I suppose if you brought in an Efini blank you could have it done also.

I brought my car in, they cut the key and it didn't even fit in the ignition. Works great in the locks though. He tried it two more times and it still didn't work. Had to take it to a hardware store to get it copied before it would work. Probably used the wrong blank or something.

Probably used the "Vallet" code for the machine that cuts the keys.
