Can Lucus stop oil leak be used in a rotary?

I think I already know the answer but I will ask it anyway.

I have a small oil leak at the seal between the rotar housings. can runs perfect. no smoke on start up a and perfect compression.

Will the stop leak hurt the oil injection system?

Thanks

Im not sure if it is safe but I put oil stop leak stuff in my 83 and it helped stop a leak and the car didn't blow up.

I put it in my 83 every couple of months and it would help. never caused any problems.
I dont think I would try it with turbos.

Thumbs up

i don't think it would hurt because it is meant to clog up very low flowing spots(leaks) other wise it would cause problems on every engine.

You mean like the oil metering pump oil?? It is a very low flowing leak into the engine.

Don't use it. You may ruin other things that are not related to the leak. What will it do inside the high temperature turbocharger. Take the time and money to fix it right. Is a blown engine worth $5 of stop leak??

Tim

PS there is a spray on stop leak that sprays on the outside to seal a leak. I would recommend this for your situation before putting anything in the oil.

What is it called? This might be just the stuff I need to stop my front cover gasket leak until I pull the engine.

The only way to fix a leak between the housings is rebuild how can it be fixed "right" with out a rebuild?

Also, what about long term with the oil injectors? Any chance of build up and reducing the flow of them by using the additive?

Doubtful, it doesn't act like plateletts in a bloodstream, it has a chemical formula that swells the seals to stop the leaking. Most Oil Stop-leaks will not reduce pumpability and will not clog the OMP. However, will it burn cleanly? That's another question.

PS- WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE SPRAY?

Good info about the oil injectors and the blood stream analogy.

actually i thought most stop leak products were only conditioners to moisturize dried up gaskets and seals? how would the clog type ones know where to clog and where not to?

Sorry I never followed up, I don't know what the name of the spray is, but there are several brand names. I think one of them is made by Permatex. It adheres to the surface and seals by surrounding the leaking area with a rubber type seal
