Can I Safely install a KOYO radiator without the OEM rubber mounts?

My 93 rx-7 came with an aftermarket koyo radiator (super thick) anyways I dont have enough clearance to mount the m2 intake box I just purchased. I was thinking of removing the rubber mounts and mount the radiator directly to the frame without the rubber mounts.

Has anyone else done this before? is frame vibration really that noticable? Where can I buy custom rubber mounts if needed or custom metal brackets to attach the radiator directly to the metal frame (OEM location)?

Thanks

Alex

You need some sort of vibration and flex isolation or you may end up with a cracked radiator.

You can get some rubber spacer and put a couple of them between the radiator mount and the frame.

you could get creative and lean the radiator forward a little more to make space. the lower tabs that the pegs of the radiator sit in, can be bent down a little more...

Just an FYI, I have both and they fit fine together. I would check your upper Radiator mounts where they bolt to the frame rails. Mine were flipped backwards tho it worked it also sat taller then normal. This may be why yours is having filiment issues.

Yep flip the upper rad brackets and it may be necessary to bend the lower mounts down a little. If you have AC you may have to add some washers behind the condenser mounts to the give the radiator more room.

PS keep the rubber or get new rubber for the bottom tabs if you don't have them.
