It would have been better if you had gotten rid of some of the "gray stuff" in the coils.

all you gotta do now is gold plate those copper wires and that would be the baddest, blingenest alternator ever!!

but... till that time, you still got the blingenest alt!

Just FYI, don't mess with the copper wires inside. They're coated in insulating varnish, IIRC and if you do more than clean them the alternator could go bad. Painting them is probably ok tho

You got my vote but shouldn't you be spending your time solving your boost-at-transition issues....

nice glasses

I ain't into yellow on montego blue either but hey it's creative and you like it. Very shiney, are you using a clearcoat after? Does anyone else know if it would be ok to paint the inside? Not sure if I would do it but....

S'alright

How much did it cost to do it, or did you do it yourself (in which case my Q would be how long)? There's a local shop from me who did Batmobile's Alt shell for $100, and it came out pretty much like yours.

The yellow is ugly... the rest looks like every other polished alt.

I always got consistent 5-7 PSI and past the X-sition point (4500RPM) boost went to 0. This went on for weeks. It was a hose that had come off of one of the pipes about 3 inches towards drivers side from the two solenoids on the bracket on the Intake manifold. Behind the pressure chamber.

Alt looks nice, But I'd get the laminated core (yellow) anodized blue like the pulley. Feel like pulling it apart again? Actually, you could probably get a piece of aluminum to go around the laminate core and make it flush with the surface of the the 2 polished pieces. Maybe even engraved with RX-7 to match the R1 Strut?
Now THAT would look nice and probably turn a couple of show judges heads (If your into that kinda thing)
