just wondering, can an exhaust leak effect boost?

it seems to be leaking around the downpipe flange that connects to the turbos.

To the best of my knowledge yes it can cause boost spikes but it depends on the size of the leaks on the other hand your boost pattern should be 10-8-10 unless you have a boost controler keeping the boost down

imho i would say that anything that effects exhaust flow has some effect on boost...... How much depends on how much exhaust flow dynamics have changed.... Less boost is only possible if exhaust speeds slow down... Exhaust takes the path of least resistance so it really shouldn't slow it down too much, but may a little due to the leaks aero implications?

it shouldn't since the exhaust leak happens anywhere from the turbo manifold and back...when I had an exhaust leak i was getting normal boost but i had NO POWER what so ever, not to mention a nice crx sound
