can the engine hoist brackets be polished?

I'm having my uim polished along with a few other parts and I asked the polisher if he could polish the brackets....he said he could, but if it's not stainless steel, it will rust.

Does anyone know if those brackets are stainless steel or just plain steel?

Thanks,

Ian

Take them off, bolt them on if you need to pull the motor. It looks cleaner and if your counting grams the car will be lighter.

Yes, it can look really shiney and will not rust as long as it doesn't get wet. If it does, just wipe it dry and polish it back up just like the other parts that are polished. I've got mine done almost a year ago and it still shines and not rusted.

3G, they most certainly can be polished, and they look awesome when they are.

Infact, just about anything in our engine bays can be polished...

Just ask Rich (Goodfella)

They are made out of steel, not stainless. They can be polished but will rust right away. Do as the man suggested, remove them and store - looks better.
