Calling all techies

Guys I have been told that one of my bearings have gone in my transmission. I get that click click sound when i am in neutral and it disappears when my clutch get pushed in, and when i am in gear and moving i can hear it under verly low speeds, like 5-10 k. So anyway I was wondering how long would i have if i decide to wait it out until i can afford a rebuilt tranny. How long have those of you that need tranny replacments go for? could i keep driving for a little while longer? i mean my noise isnt that loud and the shifting and everything is perfectly fine no grinding nothing, but i have been told that one of the bearings are gone. So what do you think how quickly can this problem progress? i want to see if this tranny can last me another year or so before i decide to replace it, bad idea?

rebuild it now and you will not have to replace damaged parts from the broked bearing, do it now and only replace the bad parts and save a tow bill. Some bearings are not much money while a failed bearing can cause alot of expence.

I think I would get a second opinion on that. I would want to rule out the pilot bearing or the throw out bearing befire tearing into the tranny.
