cali cars.

i know this question might have been asked in the past. what are the most mods some of you guys have pass smog with? i live in cali and i'm wondering if i want to keep my FD because of the new smog. thanks for all the advice.

you can still keep smog if all your mods are 50 state legal (i think?). you always could just mod hte hell out of your car then just pay off someone to smog it for you.

You will have to find a smaller more lenient shop. I passed smog (the old test -- June 28, hehe) with the mods below except with stock ecu. You can also pass with the PFC if you rig the check engine light to come on at startup.

FWIW, if you are running a cat and have an air pump, you can pass the sniffer. As I said above, you will need to find a more lenient tester to ignore the visuals. It helped for me to go to a smog shop on Saturday 10 minutes before they closed.....

but what about the new test. i just passed smog last dec but it cost me $100. i don't mine paying the $100, but would that still work come oct?

dont you have to smog every 2 years? btw aren't they going to start to "dyno smoging"?

Why do you have to smog again? Or is this a different car?

What I'm saying is, you will pass the dyno test if you have a cat and the air pump. Just make sure the tester does not boost. This will require really gentle throttle application on their part.

I know they raised the price for the new dyno smog but I don't know what it costs now.

BTW, you got tooled on that price. I got smogged for $40 in June....
