A/C knob problem

A/C **** problem
So, I get in my car today and its a cool 90 degrees here in Florida, and I decide that A/C would be a good thing. Now I turn the fan on high and switch to A/C and I notice its coming out of the defrost even though my **** is set to Face. So I change it to Face Feet, and it comes out of defrost and feet. Change it to feet only, and it comes out feet only. Change it to Defrost/feet it comes out Fact/Feet. Then finally Full Defrost and it comes out Face only.
I pulled the **** out and noticed that theres nly one way to put it on(so this isn't come cruel joke), and I dunno wtf happened? Comments?

Huh? wouldn't that cause extra play or something of hat nature? This thing works just like it did before but now its all switched up!
