I've always had an issue with my A/C. The mode selector does not work properly. Regardless which position I choose (vents, defrost, floor, etc.) it just cycles around them all. I have changed the logicon and just today, changed the mode actuator. Both act in the same manner. It worked at first, but then the metal arm coming off the mode actuator just rotates clockwise three or four revolutions and stops. Only does this on one position, the rest do nothing.

Does anyone know where the wiring harness for the mode actuator runs to? The plug for the mode actuator is directly behind the stereo and looks like the harness runs up on top of the HVAC box.

Any help would be great. Ive checked one of my service manuals and it doesn't show anything. After two years of this, Im finally ready to fix it lol.

there are three actuators
1 air intake actuator
2 airflow mode actuator
3 air mix actuator (hot cold)


all run to the heater control unit (controller and amplifier)

if you change those parts check the wiring .make sure nothing is spliced into the harness like aftermarket radio or gauges.
i dont know if one of the doors is binding or broken and causing the motor to go crazy

 

Thanks for the response. I tried the motor when it was discoennected from the door and it still does it. The fSM says to check wire continuity so I suppose that is what ill do this weekend.
