Bypassing Pressure Regulator Solenoid ?
Is it ok to bypass the Pressure Regulator Solenoid? Reason I ask is I have an engine I bought from a totaled RX7 that Im doing the vaccum hoses on in preperation to installing it and it has the solenoid bypassed. Wondering if I should hook it back up correctly or leave it bypassed. If theres no downside to bypassing it would be much easier.
TIA

It only works at startup to keep the FPR at atmospheric pressure, and not sense the partial vacuum caused by cranking. It is another piece of useless **** that Mazda put on the car. Everyone I know who has a RX-7 that is modded removed the useless piece of trash.

It was put there to increase fuel pressure during hot starts, (heat soak conditions). Having a higher fuel pressure reduces the chances of fuel vapor lock. But this does not seem to be a problem for the 3rd Gen RX-7, even though the engine bay does get very hot.
Having performed this mod myself, and it is generally agreed to be a highly recomended modification for increased reliability I would recomend it when you have the upper intake manifold off.
