See if they have the reciepts for the remaned engine and review them throughly. I just bought an FD three weeks ago with a remaned engine and yes the engine is good and runs well, but the dealership reused all the original hoses, vacuum lines, virtually everything outside of the short block, so be careful about the statement remaned engine; I am currently replacing the pulsation damper and all the vacuum lines with silicone. Other than that all the other advice given is spot on, you can't stop working on these cars, I have spent almost a $1000 in three weeks on this car attemting to undo the abuse done to it, while adding some goodies . Don't be intimidated by rotary motors, I was nervouse about working on it until I recieved some tips and guidance, haven't looked back since. This car is easier and cheaper to work on than my MX6, which surprised the hell out of me.
Hope this helps, good luck with the prchase, these cars are a blast to drive.

Kevin

yea i have heard that they are expensive, but hey gotta do what ya gotta do. They do seem a little intimidating but once i get in there and start workin on one im sure they wont be as bad, i just feel nervous about having such a nice car, i dont want someone to do anything to it, even now i have a mitsubishi lancer and i park way away from everyone to avoid dings and i always get nervous leaving it out of my sight, lol i guess its just how i am.

sigh....I miss being in Oxford. Tell you what, if you'll put me and a couple of my buddies up for a night and arrange a good beer pong game or two so we can relive the glory days, I'll gladly go look at the car with you.

Also, if the body is nice I would be very careful where you keep the car around campus....it's hell down there for cars and people drive with their eyes closed.
