Question Burnout Rear Steel Fender Flares: Anyone Interested?

Hi,

I have a set of these that I'm about to install on my FD. Before doing so, I was considering having a few sets replicated for other members on the forum that might be interested in having these rather than the FG version.

I plan on road-coursing my car once it's complete and didn't want to deal with the BS of bondo cracking and what not so I managed to get ahold of a set of Steel Rear Burnout Flares. Just wanted to know prior to welding if anyone would be interested? Keep in mind it won't be cheap, but will be significantly cheaper than having a shop make a custom one-off piece like mine .

PM me or reply in this thread if interested. Here's a picture of my FD with the FG fenders installed:

Later,

Rizwan

Woa...sorry guys I didn't realize this thread actually garnered any interest. I only had one person express interest to me when I initially posted it so I was planning on just having two additional sets made. One for him and one for anyone that wanted one in the future.

I don't know specifics yet as I'm trying to find a qualified fabricator to accurately copy the ones I already do have. I'll post pictures in the next couple days of my steel flares. I know these cost nearly $1000 to have replicated the first time around. I don't plan on the price being anywhere near that number though. I'll have a much more accurate number for everyone shortly.

That's an older picture of my FD. I have 19" Wheels that I've been waiting to put on but just haven't yet. The car looks a LOT different now than it did in those pictures.

It's a "go" for sure . I'm just getting specifics and trying to find the most quality and affordable fabricator I can. I've been gettin' a couple very unreasonable IMO quotes on replicating these. I'll keep looking until I find someone that fits both criterias and I'm hoping that'll be very soon.

I'll update this thread accordingly.

Thanks,

Riz

If you look at the rear fender flare just mounted by its self in this link

(Thanks shine auto!)

https://www.rx7club.com/shineautoproject-161/fd3s-ks-auto-burnout-style-full-aero-kit-now-available-560157/

you can see that if someone was to use the flares without the burnout rear bumper or side skirts there is an abrupt edge at the bottom where I Imagine a lot of bondo would have to go

I planned on getting the front fenders, bumper and just the rear flares.

I have the FEED side skirts and I want to run the stock bumper in the rear.

with the current burnout flares this would require some kind of body filler

Sorry if I seem like I have little to no knowledge (I'm still learning)

Please post up some more photos of your exact products. (Pre, post production and fabrication pictures would be awesome)

I love the idea of metal body parts, thats why I am so interested.

I picked the flares up from the bodyshop just in time. They don't have that sharp edge you mentioned "sk8erpunk". I'll post pictures over the weekend.

Guys, I need some help. I've been having a HARD time finding anyone to do this on a large scale and for an affordable price. Anyone have any suggestions who I should go to? I can't believe it's this difficult to find a fabricator in Chicago. PLEASE help as I don't have too much time and my bodyshop would like these back as soon as possible...

PM me with particulars if you have them.

Thanks,
Riz
