brownish color inside of turbo manifold??

is it normal to have a brownish color in the exhaust manifold?? i just did the lower intake manifold and noticed this brownish color inside if the turbo manifold.

cast iron is usually brown. I think its the white stuff your talking about. I have it in my manifold too, plus all down the exhaust right to the tip. I think its caused by a slightly lean mixture, but then again i could be talking out of my ***.

what could cause it to run lean?? i bought the car from a older man (4? yrs) and it is all stock and he is the only owner. any ideas??

Yep, mine looked like that too. Trust me, I do *not* run lean (I guess it's normal).

White on the exhaust is from running hot/lean exhaust... kinda normal for the rotary.. if its really really white.. i'd be worried.. a little white is pretty normal.. have yet to run across any that haven't.
