Broken window switch?

Guys-
My driver side window rolls down no problem, but doesnt always roll up. The switch feels the same as the passanger side switch, (which works fine).
If I buy the new part will it fix it? or is there something wrong with the motor/drive unit or something?
thanks,
Ben

I'm pretty sure it's the switch if the motor works at least one-way. I don't know how much the part costs, but you can also try taking the switch apart and making sure there is no corrosion or anything in there.

btw if your window is stuck down, pull off the door panel and get a 12v battery source. Hook up the battery to the motor. This is also a good way to see if your motor is fried

You probably have the same problem i do. Mine does the same thing. If you take off the plastic piece that covers the circuit board looking thingy with the contacts and look at the under side of the actual plastic lever you operate, the bottom piece which looks like a rod on mine was adhered to the top piece that you stick your finger under to pull up on. When you pull up, it pulls the two pieces apart (therefore the top moves up, but the bottom piece stays put and doesnt move the contacts) but when you push down, it pushes them together and the bottom piece will move even if its not attached. Thats why it works down and not up. I haven't really tried a whole lot of things to try to glue the two pieces back together, but epoxy has not worked so far. Does anybody else have any ideas? Either that or has the part I'm talking about that I can buy? Well, sorry for long reply, but i hope that helps you out and I hope somebody can help me out that has the part, because I'd rather just replace it.
