broken turbo control solenoid

Ok, I broker the little black round filter looking thing off the front of the turbo control solenoid. Will this affect how the solenoid works? If so Can I switch it out with another solenoid? Is there any way to fix it, maybe apoxy it back on or superglue or something? If I can't switch it out or fix it does anyone know where I can pick up a new turbo control solenoid?
Thanks

Not until it gets clogged full of goop. It is just a filter as you thought.

Yes, as long as you don't plug it up.

Thanks, but I think it is switching solenoid valve. Do I even need this solenoid? What does it do? I'm not planning on running any emmisions stuff, I've already taken the air control valve and some other stuff off.

I suggest you check out the Factory Service Manual, section F. Then find the trouble code for the switching solenoid and start reading. The FSM can be downloaded from one of the sticky threads in this forum.

If you glue it back together, I suggest you 1) use a heavy/thick superglue 2) glue it in place with the minimum amount of glue you need to get it placed right and let it dry 3) put a bead of glue around the crack on the outside to seal and strengthen it. This method is least likely to get glue in the solenoid.

Idle at any engine temp. Is the only thing I could find under troubleshooting.

As an FYI, a new TC solenoid runs $52 from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda.
