Broke my fuel injector air bleed... $22 to replace it!?! Any better options?
Hey guys,
I was degreasing my shortblock and took out the two air bleeds. One of which decided to break into 4 peices... mazdatrix wants 22$+shipping for it..
Is there a better option? Anybody make metal ones?
Thanks in advance, i know its kind of a stupid question.

Be glad it didnt break and fall into your motor while you were cruising down the highway.....seen that happen a few times, it really does a number on the apex seals.
Mmmm...getting ready to reassemble my engine and feeling alot better about removing (apparently) good ones and replacing them since they came in the gasket/O-ring kit.

Wtf? How did you accomplish that? I take it you don't do your own work? ouch. my old man just spent a chunk of change to have the front brakes done on his lexus, so I suppose that isn't unheard of.......

Nope, do all my own work. Look up the prices for the Stillen/AP BBK. You can only buy the rotors from one place in the US. They pretty much set the price. That was just the friction surfaces as the hats were still fine. ****, the new disk mounting hardware was close to $100 alone.
Well my i had my engine core on my work desk (oil pan removed) and i i tried to wiggle it out of the secondary ports... the air bleed on the secondary port on the rear rotor tool a LOT of force to get out!!
As soon as it broke i thought "ohhh shizzen, i hope nothing got in my housings". But it broke up into two faily big peices, so i was able to get everything out. I also blew compressed air in the Primary port on the same rotor to try and get anything small out of the secondary port.
I think/hope i got everything!.

Well i was expecting them to be a lot cheaper then that... and i was hoping that for the same stupid price i would be able to get metal ones.. but no such luck..

As i say above, i am looking for a better product that WILL NOT disintegrate into my engine after time.

I was under the impression the OP wanted something metal, not necessarily cheaper.
I'd be interested as well since a metal piece very unlikely
to break apart and fall into the motor.

Yeah I got the same impression, and in addition, I dont think he was pissed that they cost $22, i think its the fact that such a small plastic piece that costs a dime to manufacture it being sold for that much. It's all relative my friends.
But I guess we own FDs cause we like throwing money away
