Breather caps on solenoids available?

Does anyone know if the breather caps on several of the solenoids are available as separate parts? I recall seeing one or two of those caps on hose ends when I took out the old rubber lines, but I can't seem to locate them in the parts fiche.

No, I don't think you can buy them, but you can switch them, take them apart and clean them, etc.

I'm sure I could gather a few for from dead solenoids if you need them.

Go to your local wrecker...all the solenoids aew identical and can be found on other 90ish Mazda's. So can water and fuel temp sensors, and check valves. I replaced all my brittle parts for less than 50 bucks.

dgeesaman: Thanks, I'll check tonight to see if the caps can be disassembled. If so, I'll just replace the filter elements.

Ledfoot: Good idea. I've seen plenty of FCs in the yards around my area. I'll try scavenging them for solenoids.

Heck, if you find the breather to be dirty, just remove it, wash it in water, let it dry, and reuse. They aren't very fine a paper filter - they're like a polyester felt.

Yeah, I noticed. I took off the retainer over the felt. Looks like the same sort of material used for EGR valve filters in two layers. Either I'll clean them out or hole punch some air filter element to replace the felt.
