Breaking in new brakes

I am going to install new hawk hps pads and have my rotors resurfaced (if possible) this weekend. What is the standard proceedure for breaking in new pads. I have heard that you should do several hard stops, seperated by sufficient time to let the rotors cool. Is this the correct method??? Any help is appreciated. Just a little background: I bought the car with 67k on it and the rotors were warped. I was told to replace them as fast as possible by someone on the rx7 list before they caused serious problems. So, I went out and bought some Raybestos rotors and pads at Pepboys. So now with 103k miles they are warped again. I realize now that I could have waited and gotten better Brembo rotors and much better pads and maybe avoided the second warping. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just keep in mind, if rotors are cut, there is less material to dissapate the heat, and therefore can warp easier. Another item is that the rotors I've seen from most aftermarket "super cheap" stores are inexpensive steel.
Don't cut corners, buy quality items if you're going to be hard on the equipment.
As far as break in, I've always been a believer in using the brakes "softly" until seated, then go to town.

the hawk pads should include instructions on how to break them in.

btw: I suggest against resurfacing the rotors. It would be best just to replace them. Especially if they are just Raybestos rotors. You can get replacement rotors for $50/ea from some online stores like www.alloemautoparts.com and www.carmadillo.com

Yea do some soft 30-0 runs, then some 45-0 runs that's harder. Total of about 10 runs should do it.

If you have new rotors, the rotors don't break in until about 500 mi. Be gentle on the brakes before the rotors are broken into.
