breaking the 12s

mods are full exhaust, intake, and pfc, running off base mod map running around 10psi. boost gauge says im holding about 9.5psi at redline and pfc says 9psi.

with a decent sub 2.2 60ft on stock sized tires and decent driver, do you think its possible to get into the twelves.
fastest time so far was a 13.4@102 back when i had only a downpipe and intake.

to give you some idea of the horsepower, with definite dyno numbers., i spin in first and second. in fact today i short shifted to 2nd and floored it at 2.5K rpms and car lost traction and started sliding around when turbos came alive.
or maybe its old, 225 tires

I am assuming you have a boost controller and if so set it a tad higher 11-12 and you will be pretty close with some decent tires.

i have a manual one. ill try tweeking it after i see what i run.
im wondering about taking off the mbc and running boost off the pfc. does the pfc do an adequate job of controlling boost by itself?

I dunno. Me running on some shitty *** tires i got in the 12s. I didnt launch due to stock diff, and i got in there. On 14 psi. I have full exhaust, greddy smic, 99 spec twins. I dunno man. Go for it.

You probably just need some tuning and some boost. Are you running the stock IC?

I ran 12.8@110 putting down just over 300rwhp w/1bar boost. My 60ft was 2.02 on newish S-03s with serious wheel hop on a busted stock diff. My PFC does a fine job holding boost at 10lbs, not so good at 15lbs.

yep stock intercooler for now. the owner of the car before me put down 287whp with a full exhaust and intake.

according to this calculator: http://rx7.com/accel_calculator.html.

with
Horsepower (HP): 287 Weight (lbs): 3000(est. with driver) Shifts: 3
Tire height (inch.): 50 Gear: 4

Power to Weight Ratio: 10.5
E.T.: 12.7
Trap Speed: 109.94
Trap RPM: 2958

thats just an estimate based on numbers, but if i could possibly get that id be happy

my best at 13.5 psi, 315 whp, steet tires was 2.07s 60' and 13.0s @ 108 mph

touring with bose tube and spare removed, half tank of gas and my 220lbs

I no expert though, I'm sure with less gas, a good diet, and better shifting I can break the 12's

I ran a 12.9 with my friend's G-Tech, and that is with a 5.1 0-60 time (shitty launch). My 0-60 should be in the low to mid 4's, so I should be in the low 12's...and that is about what I expect out of my setup right now with 12 psi and around 360whp on my single turbo.

putting down 280 will get you into 12s if you can drive...The easiest way is to run a few more psi, youre close enough unless that was your absolute best(id go from an average but thats just me).
Tires will make a difference! I have the new Azenis and i'm very happy with them, plus theyre relatively cheap and seem to be wearing better than i had expected. Of course i have 275 in place of the 225 in the back. These tires got me a 2.0 60' time and i'm pretty sure i can get close to 1.8 just by the way they hooked.
If all else fails, you can also start yanking **** out like me(i got no a/c, p/s, rear wiper, washer bottles, air bag, cruise ctrl, spare tire, jack, bose system out - 3 speaker "mini" system, etc..)

It's the tires alright

FD at 2500RPM has like 100hp and unless it was slippery surface, you dont spin the tires just like that.

Are you sure you dont have a LS1 motor in there ?

i agree i need tires badly. my best 60ft was 2.3 sliding all over the place. best run was 13.7 @ 105. this was at only 8.5 psi. seems my mbc needed to be adjusted. so i ended up playing with it and the pfc's boost controller and ended up at 16psi, and hit fuel cut and shut it down. then on the way home i adjusted it again, and now im getting a decent 11-8-9 pattern, still not perfect though.
i figure with a 60ft of 2 seconds or less and running a full 11 pounds i should hit 12's easily.

I ran a 12.80 with 1.98 60ft, with ONLY 0 psi boost without a intercooler, hahhaa, figure that one out. Good tires, bad clutch shooting for high 11's not that its a drag car, just to know I can hold my own Without any turbos, superchargers,or NOS.

He did say he was sliding all over the place, wasnt saying it was good. Even 2.0 is not great. I raced a diesel truck turbo, and he got a 1.9sec 60ft, thats like a 8,000 pound truck.

tires are going on like 3-4 years old, i bought the car a year ago and the guy i got it from had the same tires from when he bought it, and he had it a couple of years. launching above 3.5K revs = sliding sideways through first, then when i shift into second i slide. lauching below 3.5K revs == bogging. slipping out the clutch seems to help a bit, but it wears it faster and i still slide. needless to say i need some new rubber.
yeah i know. i need much more practice launching. ive only raced at the track 3 times. and running less than stock boost didnt help. i probably should get rid of that mbc, so i can know how much boost im running instead of it being a guess job. but i must say boosting upwards of 16psi, close to 20 makes the car feel like a beast.
also good job eric that run was awesome

best mph was 105, boosting 8.5psi

that run didnt look that bad, though it did get squirly and try to go towards the center line. at least you would have taken out kolk if you raced.
but when/if you get back to gateway and get that car going straight you will put down an impressive number.
