Brand New '99 Bumper with Problems...?

I bought a new OEM bumper and dropped it off at my body shop to get painted.

The paint came out great, but I think I was too focused on the actual paint job rather than the bumper itself. When I brought the bumper home and looked at it a day later, I noticed that there was a slight dent near the corner of the passenger headlight opening.

If I feel behind this dent, I can tell that there is a little bump there. Can't really tell from the picture because everything is black, but in person you can notice a small shadow where the dent is.

The other issue I noticed is that on the middle edge of the bumper, where it connects with the hood.... there is slight lip (maybe 2-2.5" wide) that curves upward. It's not exactly in the middle of the bumper either.

I hope my body shop guy can maybe heat up the bumper and put things back into order.

But what the ****... one minute I have an awesome bumper and the next minute I look at it I find these defects. The whole reason why I bought a NEW OEM bumper in the first place was to avoid any of these irregularities. I hate how there are dips and waves that appear overtime on standard 93-95 bumpers.

Yeah I agree, my old 93 got them after I pressure washed it to close, it wasnt bad, and not really noticeable unless you are looking at it, my current 93's bumper seems stiffer and doesnt have any waves.

Did you inspect the bumper before it was painted? Maybe something happened at the bodyshop..

How hot is your area? Seems cars with dark paint seem to cause wavyness, with OEM 93 or 99 bumpers. When I was done painting mine it was flawless, a few heat cycles the top gets wavy.

Yeah, I would talk to the body shop if it wasn't like that before the paint job.
