brakes gone to crap

was driving when i saw my fraternity brother so i followed him to see if he wanted to hang out about a mile down the road people started slamming on their brakes so i did too and locked em up. i narrowly avoid slamming into my fraternity brother and we all keep driving and i pull into his apartments which were about 500yds down the road from this to find i have no brake pedal feel. "wow, thatsa lot of brake fade" i thought. pull into a parking space and barely stop before the concrete car stopper. apparently i broke a brake line or blew one off. anyone else had problems with this?

The most likely culprit for your break failure is age. Rubber break lines in ten year old cars are not always in the greatest shape and can fail when put under load. If I were you I would replace all four break lines so it doesn't happen again.

Has someone recently worked on your brakes? Its not common that this happens since the brakes are the most important aspect of the car, so it gets the utmost amount of attention when worked on.

They usually dont just pop off, are you sure u dont have enemies who cut them? hehe

if you still have no brake pressure, it might be the master cylinder.
