Brake squel

So I hear brake screaching from the front, but it is only after maybe stopping 10+ times where everything is warmed up. I checked the pads and they have plenty left, the rotors are some drilled and slotted ones and to me I think the noise is that glazzed noise. I haven't heard of those kinds of rotors being able to be machined so I guess I am looking at getting new ones?

If they are not squealing when the brakes aren't applied, and if your stopping is strong and consistent left to right, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless the noise bothers you

Guess I am just not used to it. I may end up going to some stock or slotted only. The spots around the drilled portions are showing hairline cracks.

May depend on what type of material the brake pads are made from.

Also I like to put copper anti-seize onto the contact area of metal on metal when doing brakes. That tends to quiet down some squeaks.

As for the rotors, I wouldn't worry about small hairline cracks, but would keep an eye on it. They may last the life of the pads. For glazing, you can rough it up then follow procedures for bedding in your pads. When you replace the rotors, definitely don't replace with drilled.

High performance pads are noisy, but you might want to try using some anti-squeal grease.
