Brake pedal goes right to the floor?

Under normal stopping conditions (stop sign, light, turns) the pedal feel and braking power is perfect but whenever i have to slam the brakes the pedal seems to go right to the floor and i have almost no stopping power. Is this something that could be fixed by just bleeding the brakes or does it sound like my brake cylinder is bad? This may sound a little odd but the times i really jam the pedal i can actually hear and feel the antilock working. If anyone has ever driven their car in snow they know what i'm talking about.

You should probably check your pads. Might be worn. But if that is good, you should probably just try bleeding your brakes and that should solve the problem. When you bleed your brakes, you get a more positive braking feel, so it may solve your problem. Good luck!

Try bleeding the lines first. If that doesn't work you more than likely need to replace the master cylinder.
