Brake Pedal Goes to Floor, Needs to be pumped

Have replaced master cylinder
Calipers are installed correctly
No fluid is leaking out of the system

What else could the problem be?

Right now the first time I hit the pedal it goes to the floor, then the second time I push it it gets better, and the third time its solid and the car stops.

What could be causing this? Would it be a bad caliper or something stuck in one of the lines or moisture?

Thanks!

If you're on your original slave cylinder consider replacing that, much easier than the master you already swapped out IMO

Rich sorry I think the mechanic changed the slave.

What else could it be the master?

Still sounds like air is present. Maybe bleed the system again ??

has to be either air, or a leak, if its not leaking outside the car could be an internal leak like the seal in the master

Gotcha guys, its been bled a lot of times and even by the mechanic, so if he replaced the slave, it must be the master?

Is the master also having to do with the clutch?

why would the slave need replaced for the clutch if you are having brake pedal issues? The only time I could see this being a problem is its draining your brake reservior but I am pretty sure it has chambers in it to not let it completely drain from the brake system.

Did you bleed the abs? Air can get stuck in there.

Mechanic said the abs unit went bad and replaced it and all is fixed. Have you guys heard of a abs unit failing on the FD?

I'd bench bleed the master cylinder then re-bleed all the calipers, tap them gently with a rubber mallet to free any stuck bubbles. There has gotta be air in there somewhere.

when i replaced my master on my first FD i had to take it into a shop to have them pressure bleed the system since our abs lines are so long and tall its hard to get the air out by just bench bleeding it needs to be forced.

another way could be placing a funnel in your brake master reservoir and fill the thing with brake fluid and even gravity bleed each calliper and push the pedal down to speed things up with fluid making its way out if needed, that is if its air in the lines which it does sound like

I had the brake booster hose with the check valve in it crap out once..
It didnt make my foot go to the floor, but it did give me no power assisted braking.

Dosent sound like your issue but figured id mention it as its a simple thing to test.
