Brake light won't go off

My brake light stays on even when I take off the E-brake. Eventually it does go out, but if I accelerate hard it comes back on. I think it's a short, but one of my friends thinks I need brake fluid. Any help guys?

Top off your brake fluid. The level drops as the pads wear. That is drop-dead easy to do and is most likely what is wrong. If that doesn't fix it, then start figuring out what else it could be.

Buy a new bottle of brake fluid. Once you open a can, the fluid absorbs water and becomes worthless. Don't use fluid from an old can in the garage or anything like that. The best cheap fluid that you can get anywhere is Valvoline SynPower.
