If you use ATE Super Blue (guess what color it is?), which is very good quality DOT 4 brake fluid, used by some German car manufacturers from the factory, you'll know when you've purged all the old brake fluid out of the system. As an added bonus, it doesn't absorb water as easily as some of the racing grade brake fluids and only needs to be changed once every 2 or so years. It's also available in a clear/yellow color so you can swap colors with every change.

i love ate super blue...way easy to make shure you flushed all the fluid...and makes the pedal feel like a rock..1 liter is more than enough to flush the sustem..just make shure u drain the master cilinder completly and do the clutch first...
