BOV Leak?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok whell i have a k&n filters on the car with the stock BOV hangen next to it...

ok so heres the story now...whell after leaving school and got on the high way i wanted to open the car up so i hit the gas and then after 4.5k rpm i hear like the bov just leaking/ blowing air.. and i looked at my gauge and it does a 10-8-10ish then drops to like 7... im guessing its a bov leak...

so how would i fix this?? or if im wrong whats the problem

If the BOV leaked you wouldn't hear it unless there is also a leak between the valve and the airbox.

I'll put down every dollar in my wallet that it's a simple boost leak between the turbos and intercooler. Check the rubber couplers at each end of the crossover pipe (the diagonal pipe right near the middle of the engine bay) - remove them and inspect them for cracks. Make sure the clamps are snug but not overly tight.

One BOV should only vent when you let off the gas (vacuum at the manifold). The other will vent between 3000-4500, (the exact numbers will vary by how fast you're accelerating).

If you get venting at any other time, that could explain your problem. If it's the ABV (with the short hose), the problem is the valve itself. If it's the charge relief valve, (with the longer hose), it could be the charge relief solenoid, one of the vacuum lines, or the crv itself.

Isn't there a band clamp holding it tight? If not, go to the hardware store and buy one.
