BOV for 3rd GEN
First off, i have an apex'i twin chamber bov. performs alright when you get the setting down, but the sound isnt aggresive enough for me.
I was wondering about the new greddy type RS BOV (New meaning recent in this year or two) because it looks like it has a lot of potential performance and the sound capability that i am looking for.
If anyone has the Greddy type RS BOV installed on their car please leave an opinnion here...if noone responds I will instal it on my car and post how it sounds and performs...
I dont know if anyone has seen the vid of the Skyline and RX7 drifting in the mountains of Japan (kinda low quality vid) but if you turned the sound up you could hear the Rx7 perfectly, and the BOV it had was awesome sounding. If anyone can tell me what BOV it might have had or anything that sounds like that one, that would be cool...I'll try to put a link up of the video if i can find a site to upload it to...or if anyone has it put it up!

What a surprise, another "minor" who wants a louder blowoff valve. Why not just copy to a CD, and play it in your car? You could just sit and listen to it all day. Play it as loud as you want, as you try to impress the high school girls . Hell, you wouldn't even have to use any gas to listen to it .

And one other thing before you guys trash me even more...I would like to hear the BOV over the exhaust, I can barely hear it now because the turbo wastegate vents to the atmosphere. I just want something a little louder than APEX'i, yeah i agree **** rice BOV, but i dont wanna be left in the dark to whether or not it is functioning properly

Before this gets out of hand:
The Turbo XS RFL is definitely the loudest I've ever heard - it has a sort of piercing PSST sound. The Greddy Type S has a more of a stutter to it. Any bypass valve that vents into the atmosphere will be loud. Most stock bypass valves vent back into the intake manifold and makes a kind of whoosing noise rather than the bus-like psst you get from the atmospheric BOV's. The purpose of a bypass valve is not to increase horsepower, but to save the life of a turbo (stock will protect just as much as an atmosphere-vented one). I hope you don't want something that sounds like a shotgun just went off.
The Turbo XS will probably be loud enough if you want to sound like an *** and pick up 15 year old girls though..

A) i dont WOT everywhere i go...i need to know if the BOV is working under racing conditions...not daily driving conditions, because my car is my daily driver.
B) why would I think a BOV increases horsepower or does any of the gay **** you guys are talking about
C) its vented to the atmosphere so i dont fry the cat thats on my car that makes it not smell like raw fuel everywhere i go...a big hint to cops behind me that illegal **** is under my hood.

You think i wanna be pulled over either...why does the hint of BOV in a thread invoke trash talking every time...why cant people give me a straight answer without calling me 15 or some ****...if anyone needs to grow up its you guys, stop patrolling the forums looking for stuff to talk **** on and getting off and your putting other people down

I haven't seen an RS in action yet, but I've always been a fan of the standard Type S Greddy. Has a real sharp and defined blow off sound, I like a little blow off sound when I'm gettin 'er done as it were, but I don't need a freakin duck call. I'm not sure how I'd feel about the RS with its little air port things. I hate the SSQV only because EVERY damn VW 1.8t car has one as it was the first one someone made work without making the car run like crap. So every euro-rice bucket around here had one and used it with wreckless abandon. The ESS ARR TEE FOUR crowd likes them too, another good reason for me to hate them. So to sum it up, I swear by the type S.
