Bouncing idle and won't rev over 3k after TPS replacement

Hi guys just a quick question and hopefully you guys can help me.

Well today i had sometime so i decided to replace my TPS the black one behind the Intake Manifold. Well before replacing it my car idles a little low around 800-900rpm after it got tuned by Ray @ PFS and he also told me that the TPS was bad so that's why i decided to change it.

Well after i changed it and oil too while i was at it. After all that was done i turn on the engine and whaaaaa it rev up and down from 1500 to 2000rpm like crazy and won't stop. I thought i might just have to adjust it a little bit but didn't help at all. After that i stop the engine and put my old one back on to see, it does the same thing i was like what the F. So i put the other one back on, this time it idles fine at around like 1400rpm for a couple of minutes and then it just went back to the same problem but this time i try to step on the gas it won't rev over 3k at all. So what the f is going on, this is pissing me off please someone help!!! thanks alot

Do a search for TPS adjustment, it's here somewhere, I just don't recall where.

The adjustment is somewhat touchy.

You first have to install it so that the two moveable metal tabs correctly engage the two plastic TPS tabs. Then you have to adjust the rotation for correct voltages.

That is why newbs need to read/study before doing something new!

you are right...we wouldnt have half these threads if people researched first.

you need to use a voltmeter to measure the volts between the leads. there is a how-to on what voltage is for which screws in the FAQ. its rather simple to readjust the tps screws.

Thank you guys, Actually i did the research about how to adjust it but the only thing that wasn't mention is you can't just put the TPS in and line it up with the two metal tabs. You actually have to align it before the two metal tabs so that you could get spring pressure to actually adjust the voltage. See this was never mention for newbeesss so we wouldn't have known and that's why we ask. But thanks anyway for all of your help guys.
