boosting issues and vaccum lines

So i put everything back on my car and am still having boosting issues. Last time i hooked a boost gauge up it stayed around 2 PSI and didnt ever go above 4 PSI. I was searching the forums for people with the same issues and a few people said the intercooler piping splits, so i checked out my intercooler piping and it was fine from what i could tell. No huge slits or anything. I'd still like to replace it with metal pipes but the only kit i can find is the Greddy one for 300$. Are there any slightly less expensive kits out there? Also, since it doesnt look like its the intercooler piping what else could cause a 2 PSI boost issue? Can the plastic piece on top of the y-pipe cause that big of a boost leak?

Also, when re-installing all the vaccum lines i know i hooked a few up wrong. Is there are good guide on reinstalling vaccum lines. I have the one huge picture but that thing is confusing as hell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Start with fixing your vacuum lines. Once you are POSITIVE they are correctly installed, the check valves are working and point in the right direction, then we can offer some more advice. But if you know you hooked up some of the vacuum lines wrong, then you need to address that first.

BTW, use the color coded diagram:

Okay, so today i re-did the vacuum lines the way they are supposed to be. I went up to Pepboys and bought a Boost Gauge. Went home hooked it up and went out to test my boost. If i dont have my foot on the gas it stays at 20 vacuum. When i floor it to 0 boost and just stays there. So im not boosting at all. What could this be?

Most likely you have a leak in your intercooler piping. Do you have the stock y-pipe? If so, remove the cross-over tube and the coupler, examine the coupler for splits. Then examine all the other couplers for splits as well. Make sure you have no leaks from the y-pipe to the throttle body.

I pulled the intercooler pipe off and squeezed it and saw no rips. I do have the stock y-pipe. Do you think the plastic piece on top could cause 0 psi? I cant see any cracks in it but i heard there could still be cracks in it.

Well, since no one here can see first hand what's happening; you are going to have to start narrowing down the problem. Start with working through the troubleshooting guide:

Zero psi boost is most likely, as Mahjik said, a LARGE boost leak. Just squeezing the couplers may not reveal it. Remove the couplers completely (if you didn't already do that) and inspect them.

When im inspecting them what exactly am i looking for. I did remove them before and squeezed ever surface of them looking for any tears or rips in them and didnt find anything. I think its the plastic piece on the y-pipe but can that cause 0 psi? Also if there was a a hole big enough to cause 0 boost wouldnt i hear the air rushing out?
