It was a no-name metallic-cat element from Davesport.com, and I believe it failed in less than 5K miles.

Yes, I did, which I think contributed to the early failure of the cat, esp. since I am running rich.

In other words, I believe that the extra-oxygen from the air-pump in a rich condition, caused a furnace inside the cat, causing it to melt down.
