Boost Problems & the EGR
I just put in a new EGR valve and the boost has gotten all screwed up. Sometimes i only get 10lbs at transition, and a minute ago I got 20 lbs - pegged the meter. I still have a motor, somehow. No boost consistency at all.
Since there are so many things were taken off and put back on, I might have screwed something else up, but does anybody know the relationship between boost and the EGR?
The orignial gasket on the old egr has two cut-outs, say 1/4 by 1/4 but the new egr valve gasket has only one cut-out 1/4 x 1/4 and a pin-hole where the other cut-out was. I was told that the new style gasket was to help control boost creep but does anybody know if others have had this problem?
It is a bear to go back in there so if there is something else to check I would like to try it first. New plugs, plug wires, coils, every ground clean and tight.

sounds like a mechanical problem from putting everything back together. I doubt it would be plugs, wires, etc.
if you have a boost controller, then their might be a hole in one of the lines or it might have popped off.
as far as the relationship between EGR & boost, I dont know...but I would suspect that new gasket...and double check every connection.
