Boost Problem theory

Hi All,

After do some searching on Boost problems here, I am thingking that I need to replace my Turbo control actuator & my change control valve. I am getting no boost at WOT in any gear. I get 10psi when not under heavy load with the first turbo, but it usually drops to nothing when shifting gears & I get this awful sound that I can't even describe. Boost drops right off when I get to 45K rpm & doesn't come back.

I just had the hose jobs done at BPR, and while I would have this problem only slightly before then, it is much more pronounced now.

so how's my logic? Any onter ideas besides going single or non-seq? Thanks in advance for the help.

ME.

check sig for mods.

Doesn't appear that sig showed up, so here are the mods:

M2 Dp
RE Air Intake
silicone hoses
Catback exhaust ( was on car when I bought it, don't know who makes it).

Sounds like your vacuum hoses may not be right. I had a similar problem: Good primary boost, and no secondary boost. I found a loose vacuum hose under the intake manifold, behind the black pressure tank.

Hope that is your problem. It's an easy fix.

Thanks, I'll have a look, but I don't think that explains the lack of boost from the 1st turbo at WOT & that annoying noise that accompanies it.

Do you get boost from the primary turbo when your at WOT? Is your boost pattern something like 10-8-2 or close?

If I start from a dead stop & jump on it, I get no boost at all, but if I rev up slowly, I get 10psi on turbo 1 all the way up to 45K when the CCA tries to kick in turbo 2, then boost drops to zero. If I stay in the throttle, it boost will sometimes come back to ablut 5-7psi, but thats it.

Sounds to me like symptoms of TCA or one of the check valves that go with it. It opens, but not as quick as it needs to, so you get a slow build of boost instead of the quick recovery that you're supposed to get.

Have you looked at this page?

Lots of good info there if you haven't seen it yet.
