Boost problem.

Hooked up my Fighters-Garage boost leak tester today to see why my car suddenly doesn't want to boost more than 5 psi and never transition into secondary. Car was running great until summer hit, now I'm dealing with boost problems once more.

Anyways.

No leak from 0 to 5 psi when pressurizing the system with the tester. The pressure builds up really quickly, and as soon as it hits 5 psi, all the air dumps out of the Charge Relief Valve.

Bad solenoid? If so, which one? Show me the way, guys.

Thanks.

i think my car is doing the same thing.
i hooked a boost gauge up and it only read 5 psi. so enless the gauge is broken i have the same problem.
i just didnt want to beleive it cause it doesnt feel like there is a leak, it is still very fast.

If it leaks out the Charge Relief Valve at 5psi then it’s the Charge Relief Valve that’s bad.

How did you pressurize the system?

I have tried 2 different CRV's, and I also tried swapping the ABV and CRV around and the CRV would hold the pressure just fine, and the ABV would leak in place of the CRV, so my valves are fine.

I used my Fighters-Garage boost leak tester as mentioned above and an air compressor to pressurize the system.

I'm thinking it's a solenoid, but before I rip the intake manifolds off again, I'd like to know which one to attack.

Eh? Nobody knows what solenoid would make the CRV leak out all of the boost at exactly 5 psi every single time?

Boost wont go past 5 psi

Hey guys I am kinda new to the rotary thing so bare with me if my questions seem really stupid.

I bought a 94 base model back in November that had a blown engine and a world of electrical problems and have system by system got the car up and running. Last week I took the car to get smogged and failed horribly so I pulled the UIM off and popped the injectors out to find one of the primaries wasn't firing. I had spares so i swapped em out and reassembled the rats nest and UIM. As I test drove it I immediatly noticed that the car was easier to get going from a stop (I didn't have to rev the car hardly before popping the clutch). The car sounded better and had no more gas smell from the back like before. The car was boosting 8-10 psi from like 3k-8k rpm pretty evenly before I fixed the injector problem but now that I tested it it only hits like 4-5 psi and sometimes builds no pressure at all even at WOT. IN neutral the car produces 0psi when it should be 4psi. I pulled all the IC hoses off and the Y pipe coupler off and thouroghly inspected and reinstalled all of them with high quality clamps very tight and still same problem remains.

Here is what else I have tested and tried: Vacuum at idle is 16-20 in/hg, tested CRV and ABV both are good, after hard run there is no pressure retained in pressure chamber, all vacuum hoses were replaced 2k miles back.

I am 99% sure all vacuum hoses are hooked up but it may be possible that they arent hooked up right. Any ideas which hoses could be causing my problem?

Also the precontrol and wastegate soleniods are right next to each other and I may have flopped the connectors.

Not sure where to start. I can pull the UIM pretty easy but its hard to see where all the little hoses go on turbo side of motor and I don't know if a swapped hose could cause this problem.

Wierd thing is the problem just started after injector fix so I suspect the problem was my doing although experience on other engines tells me this kind of problems can sometimes come out of the blue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
