Unhappy boost problem

Well I just got back from a ride in my fd with the boost gauge installed . The boost pattern is 8-5-8 is that normal ?? im going to do a vacuum job this weekend .. I hope that this will bring the boost to normal.. thanks and let me know your past experience with this kind a boost problem . ..Dan

Nope that is not normal. You should be seeing 10-8-10 if your car is at the stock boost levels. Here's the link I give to everyone with boost problems: http://home.istar.ca/~dvandit/turbocharger.htm. It helped me immensly.

He's got a colored vac hose diagram on that site, but I like this one better: http://www.zeroglabs.com/rx7/reference.htm

Don't be in too much of a hurry to do the vac hose job. It may not fix your problem. Spend some time studying the turbo system and learning how it functions. Do a search on this forum for "boost problem." 8-5-8 seems to be a common pattern.

I just installed a down pipe perfect boost all the way ..
