boost patterns???????

ok i have a question i have a automatic fd and wondering if the boost patterns are the same as that of a 5 speed????

Yes 5sp or auto, the amount of exhaust through the wastegate and manifold are the same... what you do with that power in the gearbox.... up to you

If the boost is the same, what accounts for the lower power levels of the automatic?

Ok, i've just been curious lately, what accounts for the lower power in the auto version? It's all the ECU I suppose, but what?

It's not that the Auto's produce lower "power" levels, (Stock engine rated H/P is the same for auto and stick tranny FD)..but the slower acceleration may be due to "higher" gear ratios in the Auto. 3.90 (4-speed Auto) vs. 4.10 (5-speed Manual). Plus you can rev-up and launch a Stick at just about any given rpm and have immediate Turbo intervention and response. Not so with our Autos..
