Hey Everybody, I've got a relativley simple question. I think I know the answer but I just want some reassurance. I just got a boost gauge installed on my bone stock 93 FD to help me diagnose my boost problem. Boost works perfectly in all gears except when I run WOT in first. Only hit 5 psi...so naturally the secondary turbo does not come on. If I do a 30 mile an hour roll in 3rd gear...i get 10-8-10 pattern. If I downshift straight to secondary turbo...i ususally spike to 11 and settle to 9-10. I am hoping this is a symptom of a clogged pre-cat as I have already ordered an HKS downpipe to replace it. I don't think its on the control end of the turbo system since it works fine at all other times. Is my assessment correct or could it be something else. BTW...I have only had my FD about 2 weeks now and LOVE it. I used to own a highly modded 300zx tt...and while the FD isn't as fast, (yet - he he) It is a blast to drive and I get stares everywhere I go. Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated. I think that your down pipe will help. 1st gear gets to 4500 RPM pretty quick, leaving you in dual turbo mode without the boost to boot.
