Boost Gauge noise

I've just installed an Autometer boost gauge in my FD. Should I be hearing a rush of air coming from the gauge? I seems to be reading accurately but I can hear a whooshing sound when boost hits. Any input welcomed.

Thanks,

Victor

Long story short, no you shouldn't be hearing a rush of air.

Hmmm, so it's reading properly, but leaking air? Are you sure the air isn't coming from somewhere else? If it was leaking air it would act as though you had a boost leak, because you would. Where did you run the boost line into the cabin? Could that possibly not be sealed well?

I hear this too recently but I already know I got a boost leak which I'm getting fixed soon, but it seems to be reading accurately. Its a very small sound though, very faint sound...

Did you use silicone tape on the threads for it? I made sure there was absolutely no leak in mine by using the compresor and taking it to 25psi. (Max is 35) It help fine, so after that it went for the install =P.

I dont know if you found the problem, but most likely it's the line you used for the gauge. You probably have a leak on the hose where it meets the gauge

the hose for the gauge is a plastic thin hose so I doubt its the hose, most likely where the connections are on either ends.
