Boost creep with dp, intake, and smic?

Here's a noob ?

I want to run a bonez dp, pfs smic, pfs intake and efini y-pipe on my 4spd a/t RX7. I'm sure the y-pipe won't make any difference but thought I'd add that any way. Think I'll have boost creep or will the unmodified exhaust from the cat back prevent that (e.g only dp replaced)? Any other problems maybe? Soon I also want to get a better radiator and another oil cooler too.

You should be OK with that combination, and maybe even if you replaced the catback with something more free-flowing. The bad actor in terms of creep is usually the midpipe instead of a cat.

you might be ok but only time will tell. in cooler temps like in the fall and winter, you could get some creep.

Almost for certain you'll be ok. On mine, I had an HKS intake, dp and Kakimoto exhaust and was fine. I only started to get boost creep when I put on the mid pipe.

And yes the Y pipe will make a difference. Just like a better intake, the Y pipe helps air flow better. The more air that flows in, the more that flows out, the higher the creep (or chance of it).

I currently have K&N air intake, DP, GReddy SP1 and GReddy stock mount intercooler and I have boost creep. I live in Las Vegas and it's not even that cold.

You have a performance exhaust, that's why you're getting creep. The stock exhaust restricts the flow enough that with your mods it should keep the boost creep down. Just port your wastegate and you'll be good to go.

The original poster has the stock exhaust so he should be good to go. If you do have boost creep though, just search the forum for wastegate porting. Fairly simple to do and helps a lot.

Thanks for the opinions so far guys! Keep the two cents rolling though... For instance, anyone know of a plug and play ecu with more aggressive fuel maps (for an auto tranny... yeah I know (1) not as much fun and (2) very few options when it comes to a plug and play ecu) which may help my current list of mods and possibly adding a catback and hi flow cat in the future?
