Boost Controller in Driver side door pocket??..

Anyone ever done this?

A guy here in Charleston (7eleven) has his turbo timer in his driver side door pocket and i liked the fact that it was hidden but easily accessible. Anybody ever put a boost contorller here, or is the idea to make the vacuum lines as short as possible??

THanks for any input guys

Well if you are using a Electronic Boost Controller (EVC IV, SBC, AVC-R) then it is just wires. The stepping motor where the vaccum lines go to are in the engine compartment.

It is very easy to move an EBC to that location. The only drawback is that you really wont be able to see all the readout functions of your controller. And switching modes may be harder on your left since that hand will pretty much always be on the wheel.

I've seen boost controllers that are under the ashtray.

I think he's talking about the manual boost controller. It's OK to have long vacuum hoses, but they will limit your minimum boost level.

With something like the Profec B or anything that requires a vacuum line in the back of the bc, you will have to run that vacuum hose and it may get crimped when shutting the door.

Man, with how hard it is to close our doors, I would never put electronics in that door pocket, but to each his own. I like on top of the steering column with the A-pillar boost guage just to the left of it for easy calibrating.
