Bolt From Bell Housing To Engine Is Drenched In Oil
So I'm in the process of pulling the engine out of my car and I just unscrewed the bolt that is located behind the starter that mounts the bell housing to the engine and it was covered in oil. There is a puddle inside the hole and before this there was oil in the intercooler lines and even vacuum lines from the turbo specifically the ones with the boost pills.
Anyone have any idea what this means? I fear the worst but the engine will be on an engine stand so any thoughts let me know.

Well the oil in the bell housing is very likely NOT related to the oil in the intercooler.
I bought a fd once that someone had left the oil pressure sender unit not all the way tightened and it resulted in oil leaking down the rear iron and puddling in the bell housing.
Just strip the engine down to the block and replace all the stuff that needs replaced. That way you can check everything for yourself. You might be surprised with what all you find.

Thanks for the replies everything is officialy disconnected from the motor. Gonna pull it out this weekend though once my Pineapple racing engine stand adapter arrives. I'm hoping you guys are right but I'm really curious as to how oil gets inside while it's tightly bolted in cause it's all inside where it threads to the motor. Guess we'll see in a few days.
