Bollocks, new rebuild over heated cos of T stat
Ok I was running my engine in last night and the water temp shot up to 120deg C.
I managed to get home as I was a mile away and as I got home the radiator hose blew off.
So left it to cool down and had a look at it this afternoon. There is a patch of oil on the floor and I took the inlet off and there is water and oil mix in the rear secondary runner.
So looks like the seals have cooked and failed. B*stard.
I guess the water O rings on the housings have gone and the oil control rings on the rotors, also the T stat is bugger aswell. I started the car today and the water temp is 98deg C but the radiator is freezing cold to touch, block is hot.
What else could have failed as I'll have to order the parts and get it fixed asap.
I have searched but I just got normal overheating problems.

It takes a while for an engine to hit those temps, even with a bad t-stat. I recommend getting gauges with a warning light function....
Are you saying that you didn't replace the t-stat when you dropped the new motor in?
