Bogus Boost in 1st and 2nd

Do I not know how to drive? I only get 4-6 psi boost in 1st or 2nd gear.

I get 10-8-12 in third and fourth. I don't have the guts to drive fast enough to test the high end boost in 5th.

I know I am pushing it getting 10+ with my mods, so I don't push it that hard that often.

Still, any ideas why the boost is so low in the low gears?

Question

Are you using a manual boost controller (or any boost control)?

Things happen alot quicker in lower gears, so low boost in 1st and 2nd is typically a sign that an actuator is moving too slowly.

Check this place for more info:

Ok, I just asked as I know people who have had problems building boost in the low gears with the manual "Home Depot" boost controllers.

As LARacer pointed out, check the TCA and the Turbo Control Solenoid.

Check your vacuum lines under/behind the pressure tank in front of the UIM.

boost also hits alot quicker in 1st in 2nd, sometimes there can be a semi-leak that only opens up under these more extreme circumstances
