Bogging after fast 2-3 shift

Hey guys,

A month ago I got into the gas a couple of times through 3rd gear and I had the engine bog really heavy on the 2-3 shift once I went WOT in 3rd. The car runs nearly perfect all other times, when I drive it normally, even up to semi-aggressive (just not redlining/banging gears).

It just happens when I drive it really hard up to redline and shift real fast up into 3rd the engine bogs down hardcore and I just let out before seeing if its going to come back up the revs.

Note that I can also drop the pedal to WOT in 3rd when cruising and it goes through the normal boost pattern and cuts the tires loose.

Mods: Intakes (no idea on brand), Greddy Pulley Kit, DP, main cat, crappy cat back...nothing else really related. Stock twins, IC, injectors, etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
~Tom

I have the exact same problem with my RX7 and it is intermittent. I can slam it in first gear but once I swap to second it runs like a complete dog, almost as if the turbo isn't spooling. I need to take a person with me to watch the boost gauge to see if it is boosting when this happens.

This only happens every once in a while but it does happen.

Mods: Intakes, DP

check all vacuum lines. I used to have this exact problem. I had multiple cracked vacuum lines so I replaced every single vacuum line. Now the second turbo kicks in everytime

Yup just confirmed it on my lunch time drive...second turbo is not kicking in when shifting wot.

I did notice that it makes a nasty almost trumpet/horn sound when it happens, strange I know...i'll have to do some searching.

I think mine may be linked to a solenoid TC or something, i'm gonna finish my searching and see if I can swap one out.

On the ride home tonight I cruised in 3rd at about 3000 rpm slammed it WOT and it went to 10psi, down to 8 at 4500 and back up to 10 then tapered to 8. It really seems to just be only under those particular circumstances described in my first post.

I don't want to just go changing plugs and wires and hunting for a solution by changing things. Thanks for the input so far guys, keep it coming!
